About Jan Vermeer
Dutch painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle-class life, renowned for his masterful treatment of light. Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Milkmaid are among the most admired paintings in Western art. He produced only about 34 paintings in his career, and his work was largely forgotten until the 19th century.
Jan Vermeer the Scorpio
Scorpio does not do shallow. A fixed water sign traditionally ruled by Mars and modernly by Pluto, Scorpio is drawn to whatever is real and hidden: the actual feeling under the polite answer, the thing nobody says at dinner. Small talk is a chore; the conversation at 2am is where Scorpio comes alive.
