Marco Polo

About Marco Polo

Venetian merchant and explorer whose 24-year journey through Asia produced The Travels of Marco Polo, one of the most influential travel books ever written. His accounts of the Mongol Empire opened European eyes to the riches of the East.

Marco Polo the Virgo

Virgo notices. A mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury, Virgo sees the detail everyone else walked past: the thing that's slightly off, the step that would make this work properly, the small fix that quietly saves the day. It's a practical, useful kind of intelligence, applied to real things rather than abstractions.
